How to use the online calculator
Enter a calculation in the same order you would write it. Multiplication and division are completed before addition and subtraction. Add brackets when you want a different part calculated first: (25 + 15) × 3 gives 120.
Common examples
- Add a percentage: for a £60 price plus 20%, enter
60 + (60 × 20%). - Find a percentage: enter
250 × 15%to find 15% of 250. - Split an amount: enter
84 ÷ 6. - Use a negative number: enter the minus sign before it, such as
-12 + 30.
